Maria Sahai (Russia)

I was born in a remote Russian Far East on the shores of Sea of Okhotsk, raised in the steppes of Southern Kazakhstan, and worked and lived all over the world since then. For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by stories of far-away places and cultures different than mine. I've been fortunate to travel to many regions of the world, and I chose photography as a means to share the beauty of the people and the lands I discovered.
For a few years now, I have been organising photography tours to Greenland, Norway, Spitsbergen Archipelago and Iceland. During these trips i often go for long hikes, walk on glaciers, drive dog sledges or snowmobiles. In those kinds of situations the size and weight of my backpack is very important. In 2015, I switched from Canon to Fujifilm and never regretted it. No more back pain or sore muscles in my arms. And I couldn’t dream of a better image quality, color rendering and flexibility of the menu.
Here is what you can find in my backpack: X-T1, X-T2, XF23mmF2, XF35mmF2, XF50-140mmF2.8, XF100-400F4.5-5.6.
