Uli Planz (Germany)

My name is Uli Planz. I was born in 1955 and work with great passion as a freelance photographer. I live in the vicinity of Frankfurt/Main, Germany. Most of the photographs I take are for businesses. The focal points of my work: people, portraits, architecture, company events and work situations. Personally, I have a very strong affinity for “street photography”.
I like people and like to get close to my photographic subjects or be right in the heart of it all. My credo is “open your mind.”

By now I have gotten rid of my entire DSLR system and I don’t miss a single thing. The X-System delivers outstanding results. The image quality I get out of my various FUJIFILM cameras – especially what I am able to achieve with the Pro2 – exceeds what I was able to do with my previous single-lens reflex cameras. It leaves absolutely nothing to be desired when it comes to professional assignments. And the typical DSLR problems with the front and back focus as well as the constantly dust covered sensor are finally no longer issues I have to deal with.
My favorite camera for work is the X-Pro2; while I also use my X-T1 and X-T10 quite a bit. My preferred lenses are the XF18mm, XF23mm, XF35mm and XF56mm. I also appreciate the capabilities of the wide-angle lens XF10-24mm and the ingenious XF50-140mm a lot. Both deliver extremely sharp images – thanks to the highly effective image stabilizer also when I shoot free hand with longer exposures. 
The X100T comes in particularly handy when I take inconspicuous shots, e.g. for reports and while traveling.
